Who was Tottenham's WORST Player of the Season?

OK, well a few readers complained that our Player of the Season poll was pointless because Robbie Keane was always going to win. I say that doesn't make it pointless, because Robbie Keane deserves every bit of thanks we can muster for such a terrific season - and the more polls he wins, the better.

Anyway, to keep things balanced, let's find out who you rated our worst player of the campaign. It can't be anywhere near as cut and dried as the Keano win - which was by 60 per cent.

So you know how it works. Cast your vote below from the squad and then leave us a comment as to why you picked who you did. The results should make for some very interesting reading indeed!

has to be Robbo, nobody did more to destroy our season for the first 3 months.

I was on the verge of voting for Zokora, or Bent, then it hit me that it aint their fault we paid extorsionate money for average Joe's, so I plumped for Paul Robinson. Dont get me wrong I am a amature goalkeeper, and as such Robbo is still my hero!, I think he has more potential that any keeper in the premiership!, However some of the mistakes he has made, for whatever reason, at this level cannot be excused. I agree sh1t happens, but not at this level. His saving grace was Carsons flop at international level, and the fact that Dave Calamity James is his only other rival!. Having said this I hope we keep faith because I feel come next season Robbo will be back as englands number 1 as well as my hero!.

I think people are being unfair on paul robinson. hes made a few mistakes, but hes also won us some games. we wouldn't have won the carling cup without him, he made two immence saves in the semi final, and also 1 or 2 in the final. i say lay off robbo. Also i was at the
1-4 loss to newcastle, n it could have been 8 if robbo hadnt have pulled off sum world-class saves.

How did Boateng get more votes than Taarabt?
We've won nearly ever game Boateng has played in!

Posted by: Jon | May 22, 2008 12:51 PM

For me it was close between Kaboul and Jenas.
I picked Kaboul for his lack of ability to defend.

Posted by: Jimi | May 22, 2008 12:51 PM

dawson - for the same reason jimi.

I based my vote on actual performance compared against expectations at the beginning of the season. Itairly run thing between Robinson and Jenas, but i decided on Jenas as he is consistently inconsitent. He has had some amazing games this season where he looked every bit the world star he promised to be before we signed him. Then other games he looked nothing more than mediocre with the match just passing him by. Robinson on the other hand has always had the tendancy to make some mistakes throughout his career. He has been a rock for this club over the previous few seasons although near the end of the 2006/07 season he did show signs of deteriating form and it has carried into this year big time. Goalkeeping errors always look more spectatcular than errors by any other player just because they have a bigger impact.
Next season Jenas needs to step up to plate and take every game by the scruff of the neck and dictate it or else I doubt Juande will put up with his inconsistency and he will be replaced, its that simple.

And the point of this is?

Posted by: mesmo | May 22, 2008 1:38 PM

Robinson had a shocker! His confidence has gone and I think the best thing for him would be a move. some of the sloppy decisions he made cost us dear and the he seems to have forgot how to catch a ball.

Posted by: Jay | May 22, 2008 1:39 PM

lennon. sell him now while he's still worth something. perhaps he'd make a good sprinter but since he can't shoot, cross or pass he's useless as a footballer.

Posted by: phil | May 22, 2008 1:59 PM

Interesting comment James...did Robbo actually play in either semi final?...I think you are referring to Man City away - the best away game of the season...in case you forgot we beat arsenal in the semis

Posted by: Goodie | May 22, 2008 2:01 PM

i have to agree with all that robinson loss it but have to say bent will come good lennon will as well but Young-Pyo Lee also had bad season .. who the hell voted for king ?

Posted by: hellwelovespurs | May 22, 2008 2:09 PM

What about Gilberto??

Posted by: Adam | May 22, 2008 2:09 PM

no-one can compete with zokora for consistent awfulness in my book, though robbo, daws, gilberto etc have all had their moments. Cant shoot, cant pass, gives the ball away at the end of his pointless runs, gives away free kicks in dangerous areas.....keeps telling the press what a great side we are and how we're going to win....

Posted by: paul lyons | May 22, 2008 2:31 PM

i cant bleve the high count against jenas - he has been fantastic for us for yet another season and yet people blame him for missing a penalty. what about chimbo's subsequent miss? in any case, i never blame a penalty misser. i would rather blame gilberto for losing the ball and losing us the uefa cup - because that kind of mistake is one you can blame somebody for

i dont agree that keane "deserves every bit of thanks for a terrific season"...imo he hasnt had a significantly better season than jenas, berbatov, woodgate, or malbranque

Posted by: piku | May 22, 2008 2:46 PM

no doubt about this one...Jenas...runs like a headless chicken for 90 minutes but can hardly pass and head the ball, no tactical nous, no technical ability, cannot tackle and cannot shoot and well he knocked us out of the UEFA cup singlehandidly. His few good performances are by far outweighed by his many horrible games. Hopefully he'll be one of the players to go this summer...i would pay to see him leave!

Posted by: Gazza8 | May 22, 2008 3:20 PM

just compare these midfield maestros and judge who is world class and who is not...Scholes,Lampard,Ballack,Fabregas,Gerrard and Mr Jenas...no wonder we have yet to break into the Big 4.

Posted by: Gazza8 | May 22, 2008 3:27 PM

robinson for sure. I went to every home game and quite a few away and he was mostly dreadful. It's like he's been kidnapped by aliens and a look-a-like dumped in his place. Compared to a couple of seasons ago he isn't a shadow on what he was. Yeah, he makes a few great saves, that's his job, but his handling on crosses and long shots is worse than mr magoo.

Posted by: stoney | May 22, 2008 3:41 PM

Robbo didn't have a great season, and Dawson wasn't a patch on the player we saw the season before.
Jenas IMO is a easy target, he's not as good as Lampard or Gerrard but he's nowhere near as bad as some want to make out, Gazza8 is being a bit over dramatic saying that he single handedly knocked us out of the UEFA, we lost that game at home where the TEAM played badly, even though we still had cances to win the 1st leg.
Zokora is no world beater but he has his qualities, on numerous coccasions he bursts forward from midfield, he covers competently at centre half and does the simple things at defensive midfielder.

Think Zokora and especially Jenas cop some undeserved flak as they were by no means our worst players of the season.

Chimbonda this season went backwards and when Hutton was signed he looked like he didn't want to know and his bitch fit at being subbed in the final says it all. But the worst player by a country mile was Kevin Prince Boateng. Can't pass can't shoot, can't tackle cant do much

Posted by: Park Lane Spur | May 22, 2008 5:24 PM

James - you said "we wouldn't have won the carling cup without him, he made two immence saves in the semi final, and also 1 or 2 in the final."

In the semi-Final we won 5-1!! So a) would 2 saves have made the difference (arguable), but b) ROBBO DIDN'T EVEN PLAY IN THE SEMI - IT WAS CERNY

Get your facts right first mate.

it's no coincidence we won the cup without dawson. big heart no brains..another brown..or should i say clown..no wonder kaboul is off i wouldn't play behind dawson. kaboul will develop into a goog player..dawson ha ha wonder what big game he'll lose for us next..man u..eufa cup..you know it'll happen..he's a choker. get rid asap

Posted by: spursguv | May 22, 2008 8:41 PM

I don't like this question. What's the point?

Posted by: Shannon | May 23, 2008 10:31 AM

chimbonda for performances and stinking attitude

Posted by: shea | May 23, 2008 11:35 AM

who are the dumbasses tht said people like hutton, king, woodgate, bale etc etc are the worst, aaaaawful
you should be ashamed

Posted by: Chris T | May 23, 2008 12:06 PM

ye i agree chimbonda has been diabolical, dawson has been awful and u would have 2 say lennon has had a dire season xx

Posted by: mr nudge | May 23, 2008 12:25 PM

the point is 2 see who every1 thinks is the worst player, and some of u retards r chosing players that never hardly play :S or that hav been injured come on grow up! lennon has huge potential and has had a decent season i don't agree wiv jay bout his skill coz he can cross, pass jus shootin is woeful majority of the time! it may be a wise move 2 cash up now coz he may hav another season lyk last 1

Posted by: JT | May 23, 2008 12:30 PM

Park Lane Spur has got it right. Robinson and Dawson haven't lived up to previous standards (Dawson probably cos he needs King to keep him right). and we can all see the failures of Jenas and Zokora but they ain't the worst players there.

Its got to be Boateng. He's so bad its not true. He seems as thick as they come and can't read a game. Subsequently his involvement is woeful. Darren Bent is proving not up to the task but at least you know he is capable of more. Boateng is completely out his depth. Is it cos he's a young guy playing in a different country, who knows? Whatever the reason he is a waste of time. Michael Brown managed to look better placed in the premiership than him! and thats saying something.

Boateng is a perfect example of what Comolli knows about football.

How can some people vote for players that hardly haven't been regulars this season, such as Kaboul, Taanio and Prince-Boateng??? Worst player has to be a player that have been a regular and hasn't lived up to his expectations. Such as Paul Robinson and Michael Dawson.

Posted by: Dennis Karlsson | May 26, 2008 8:37 PM

All your players are shit!!! Stupid wankers!!!!
